Millions before us came and went without recognizing that the world they lived in was changing; as a result, people live, work, socialize, and worship as their forefathers have throughout the centuries.  That has to change.

If you are over 50 and lived abroad, the Ethiopia you know no longer exists. It is a country where the strongest and most adaptable ethnic groups can easily survive and thrive, while yours can barely survive. The Ethiopia we think is redefined and deconstructed to suit their agenda; they can easily take away your identity, your history, your culture, and even your language. It is already happening: some groups say Gojjam and Wollo are not Amhara, and that Amharic is not an Amhara language. If you don't recognize the change and act on it accordingly, you will be swallowed by the strongest.  

We are talking about the reality of today: either you accept the change, adapt, and change yourself, or sit and watch, being instinct. 

Whoever thought that the Amhara region would be invaded from the North by the much less populated Tigray region, led by the anti-Amhara TPLF, and then, by the Oromo-dominated Federal government, in the name of disarming Fano? That is just the fact.  The lesson from all this is that Amhara's survival depends solely on its own, not on others' goodwill. That requires a mental shift: one can live with all the Ethiopian ethnic groups with equality and respect while maintaining one's own cultural heritage.
